Day 12: SkyView & The Design Museum

Stockholm SkyView

Today was a free day where we got to explore more of the capital of Scandinavia. We first took a trip to SkyView, an attraction that lets you see Stockholm from atop the Globe Arena. Somewhat like a glass elevator, you step inside a big bubble that rides a track up to the top of the globe. The view was breathtaking, and gave me a better idea of the scale of Stockholm.

Next, we went to the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design. There, I learned a bit about what makes Scandinavian design so special and why Scandinavians pay so much attention to it. After viewing the exhibits, we walked into the Moderna Museet, another museum of modern art. Some of the exhibits seemed strange, but every one was, in some way, profound. If you’ve got a Stockholm card, it might be worth a visit.
