Early this morning, we left our hotel for the Kyoto train station to take the Shinkansen (bullet train) back to Tokyo for our return flight home. The Japanese are known for the impeccable punctuality of their trains, and the very quick and on-time Shinkansen did not disappoint. As an added bonus, we got to see a beautiful view of Mount Fuji out the left-side window of the train. This was especially appreciated considering we didn’t get to the see the mountain at all on Day 6.
Once we made it back to Tokyo, we took another train to the airport, and said goodbye to the lovely and hospitable Land of the Rising Sun as we boarded our flight back to the United States.
